Sportshall Athletics 09/02/17

On Thursday 9th February there was an Athletics Tournament at Graves Sports Centre. All of the Year 5s and 6s did a trial and did amazingly! Unfortunately we could only take 12 children (6 girls and 6 boys.) Eva, Sylvia, Flo, Immy, Charlotte S and Saskia made up the girls team. Isaac, Charlie, Harris, Harry and Tom made up the boys team.

We got the highest score in the track events and also did very well in the field events. Overall we came second but we did so well that we made it into the second round - a regional competition involving all the schools in Derbyshire.

Year 5 Hockey Tournament

On Thursday 26th of January 2017, the Year 5s went to Tideswell to play hockey.

We split up into two groups and did a warm up. Group B played a match first while group A did a game of Bulldog and played a friendly match.

Group B didn't manage to get into the final but Group A came 2nd overall. There were three trophies, one for the winner of the smaller schools, one for the larger schools and one for the school who worked together, 'The Teamwork Trophy'. Sadly we didn't get any of these trophies but we got some certificates for coming second.

We were proud of our achievement and got on the bus happily.

Year 2 Football Cluster Tournament 2016

We took the Year 2 children to the Tideswell Cluster Tournament on Thursday 13th October. All the children had a great time and showed great teamwork and sportsmanship. All three Baslow teams won their groups. The schools were split into 2 tournaments, Baslow A won the 1st tournament and the final of the 2nd tournament was between Baslow B and Baslow C, which Baslow C won. Then there was a final match between the 2 tournament winners Baslow A & Baslow C with Baslow C being the overall winner. It was a great event!
